Overview
Campus Nutrition, a Vancouver non-profit, helps UBC students eat well on a budget. As lead UX designer, I created an interactive map, offering a quick way to find nearby, diet-friendly food options. The map, based on student and vendor research, focuses on speed and clarity.
project outcome
Campus Nutrition simplifies campus dining by mapping options, highlighting dietary details, and personalizing the experience for smarter eating.

Since launch, it’s boosted vendor discovery by 38%, cut search time by 27%, and increased nutrition filter use by 50%.
the problem
Students find it difficult to select meals that align with their dietary needs and schedules, complicating healthy eating.
the solution
A digital platform that maps campus food options, highlights dietary needs, and personalizes meal recommendations for students.
UX Research goals
The UX research goal was to understand what UBC students eat on campus and how they make these decisions. We aimed to validate our assumption that a busy schedule is the primary factor influencing their choices.
I collaborated with the marketing team to investigate how food establishments are presented to the student body. We aimed to determine if the lack of information about campus food options leads students to choose familiar places instead of exploring new ones.
